The matte black finish looks great, and the set keeps things neat and lets things air dry. The set is perfect for controlling clutter on the bathroom counter, and it fits the husband's safety razor. However, the brush included in the set is not good. It doesn't whip up a good lather, no matter what is added, and the brush knot is skinny. The pain on the bowl peels off, and there are visible scratch marks on the interior of the bowl. The bowl is smaller than a disk of shave soap, but glycerin-based soaps can be melted and poured in. The set is too expensive for what it is, but it is the best available. The bowl doesn't have an inset piece to hold soap.
