The grappling hook measures 9.44 inches wide and 9.05 inches high when open, and it locks securely in the closed as well as the open position. One customer found it beefy and well-built, while another had to apply some liquid rubber to prevent it from unscrewing from the attaching ring and falling into the pond during use. A reviewer noted that the hook was excellent quality and stows away well, but the rope was not of the same quality and would need replacement. Another praised its portability, stainless steel Construction, and sturdiness. However, rust appeared on one customer's hook after it was briefly submerged in water.
