The Snappy Tools 18 Inch x 38 Inch Countersink #43008 is a great product for pre-drilling and countersinking holes in wood in one step. It can be set to drill the hole and bevel the edges so the screw head fits flush with the surface. The tool is hollow so you can set the bit depth however long you want. The countersink cuts pretty clean, and it works fine with a quick change chuck so you can easily and quickly change between this bit that you use for drilling pilot holes and the Torx bit that you use to drive the screws. The provided twist drill has a maximum drill depth of a little over 2.5 inches, and the drill bit itself is 2.78 inches long. You can insert a longer 1/8" twist drill into the countersink if you’d like to drill deeper. The hex shaft is hollow, allowing you to adjust the depth of the drill bit beyond the counter sink, making it shorter or longer as needed. The limiting factor for the depth of the hole is the depth of your drill’s chuck to accept the end of the drill bit sticking out beyond the counter sink hex. This tool is designed for drilling clearance holes and pilot holes for wood. It is not recommended for drilling in steel. The countersink fits the plugs perfectly, and there’s no more short or too deep holes! This drill is a great time saver and a must for anyone who frequently drills pilot holes into any type of wood.
