Answer: The shelves are 11’ wide with a 2” high stopper/ridge across the front so you can slant the racks. You may be able to leave room between the racks and the wall so your shoes can hang off the back. -

Answer: No, it is not. For its height and a rack FULL of shoes, it is a good piece to have. -

Will a shoe box fit in between shelves? Is the 7.3 inches between shelves accurate?
Answer: Yes, you can leave shelves out to fit boots. It is a very nice shoe rack. I have the two tier rack and it holds a lot of shoes. -

Has anyone had issues with the shelf being 40 inches wide rather than 36.4 inches as indicated in the description?
Answer: No. We double-checked that the width of the shelf is 36.4 inches.
