The wood is not treated or sealed and may be stained or painted as per user preference. The shelves are well made and can be hung or stand on their own. Users noted that they were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product, especially Considering the price; although some found the shelves not to be straight or flat due to the angled resting posts. It is also noted that one should not buy this product if they plan to display many items of the same height as the top shelf is narrow and the bottom shelf is taller. While some users found it perfect for their collections of snow globes and figurines and ordered multiple units, others found it overpriced and cheap and would not repurchase.
