It comes with a rivet link, but a clip link can also be used as long as it is installed correctly. The chain is compatible with most 520-sized motorcycles, including the 2012 Ninja 250. The package includes a packet of lube/grease for the master link. Some customers had issues with the master link being unfinished, but most found it easy to install.
