Hard Science Fiction Editorial Review
The Three-Body Problem Trilogy is a masterful work of science fiction, spanning centuries and cultures, and keeping the reader engaged with its fast-paced plot and well-developed characters. The story builds over the course of the three novels, with an interesting use of cultural differences that may cause some uncommon pacing, and some of the characters can be frustratingly naïve. However, the author's excellent descriptive writing style and the fantastic way they keep the different arcs of the story connected make up for it. The trilogy is a must-read for anyone who enjoys imaginative sci-fi books, especially with its fresh take on a non-Western aesthetic and how it deals with the elements of the Cultural Revolution that are not often taught. The box set is well made and, despite a Netflix sticker that feels tacky, the books' great service and wonderful condition are worth the investment.
