Its pump works great but the bait dies within 3 to 4 hours as the pump is not strong enough for the larger cooler size. Customers have found this cooler effective in keeping bait fresh and lively for days. It can be used as a seat, rod holders, storage as a dry box, or just as a cooler. It is heavy and a little awkward to carry when full of water. Engel's customer service team is helpful in case a problem arises. This cooler is suitable for minnows, but it would depend on the size of the bass if they can be kept alive or not. Live crabs can be also be put in the cooler by removing the net from inside as the crabs will tear it. The cooler works only on batteries or a DC outlet in the car. The charger just broke up in the socket for one customer. The inside size is a little smaller due to the thick walls of the cooler.
