The Squier Mini Stratocaster Electric Guitar is ideal for beginners and people with small hands. Frets on the mini strat have small individual sizing, and compared to the Mustang, the Mustang has more fret width. The guitar requires light gauge strings to sound the best. The guitar comes with a headphone jack, so even if you don’t have an amplifier, you can still play it. But it's recommended that you buy a small cheap amplifier which is suitable for young beginners. The product seems to have disappointed some customers – the screw holes on the neck were stripped for one customer, while another received a guitar which looked different. The action on the guitar cannot be adjusted because of the Allen adjusting screws. Also, the low and high E strings seemed too short. While the guitar is good quality for a starter guitar, it is disappointing that it is not the same item as advertised. Furthermore, the guitar is too heavy for a child. The tone is described as lousy, and it appears that the fretboard edges are sharp because a customer had to pay $60 for repair. On the positive side, one customer was happy with the quality and thought the product was excellent for beginners, even though they had to fix the frets and the oil board. The pickups are said to be a little noisy, but not a problem if using low gain. Overall, this product is suitable for beginners and those with small hands. However, some customers are disappointed with it, due to its weight, sharp edges on the fretboard, and disappointing tone.
