Answer: The raised garden bed is made of iron. -

Answer: It comes with a small wrench and an allen wrench -

Answer: About 8 inches. I didn't go out and measure it -

Is it safe to grow food in this or will chemicals leach from metal material as it heats up?
Answer: This comes with a fabric liner, I don't know how fast anything can leach thru. I built with cedar shingles, a liner base to keep from pooling water, there is no pitch on the bottom, Just a hole for drainage. I've had the thing a couple of months and it looks like it's rusting already, won't buy this again. -

Is the shelf just a grate that lays on top of the base or is it all one piece?
Answer: It's a separate piece bolted onto the frame. -

Do you make a cover for this?
Answer: You can. I didn't. -

How much is required for assembly?
Answer: Everything. Make sure you keep the parts in the plastic wrap that each one comes in. They have labels identifying the equivalent part number to be used during assembly.
