The SIIG Ultra Compact Wireless IR Remote Control Extender Repeater Kit – 200M (CE-RC0014-S1) is a great purchase for those looking to extend the reach of their remote control. Based on similar devices, the emitter range should be at least 30 to 40 feet, making it suitable for large living room spaces. It is best to place the emitter on the shelf right in front of the device to be controlled and, if the device is behind closed doors, the emitter can be placed on top of the unit as enough IR will bounce off the doors to control the device. The internal emitter can be used simultaneously with the extension cable. This kit can be used with the AT&T U-Verse TV cable box, but it's important to note that many of these cable boxes use a non-standard Infrared frequency, and many IR devices won't properly repeat the signals. The setup is straightforward and takes only a couple of minutes.
