Horror Editorial Review
When They Cry: Complete Collection is an anime that combines several genres, including mystery, horror, psychological thriller, soap opera drama, and sci-fi fantasy elements involving parallel universes and Groundhog Day-style time loops through supernatural means. It tells the story of a group of friends who become ensnared in a horrifying cycle of gruesome deaths and disappearances in a small village. The series is definitely gory in the first several storylines, but there is a reason to the repetition and variation in stories. The last episodes, however, are highly criticized for being confusing and cheesy. The product comes in 9 DVDs with alternate language options, including English and Japanese (with subtitles). Overall, the customers are very pleased with their purchase, citing the fair price and excellent condition of the box set. However, some customers have received damaged cases, while others have experienced trouble with the DVDs falling out of the case.
