It does not have a square ratchet drive on the back but the t-bar is removable without disassembling. However, it does not have a center hole guide. The 161R is not ratcheting but the 165 is the ratcheting kit, or the 161R and 162R can be bought individually. The jaws will open enough for a 5/8-nc tap. The 161R is designed for 0 to 1/4 taps, while the 162R is for 12 to 1/2 tap. In terms of customer reviews, some found that the wrench was handy in tight spaces and had a great grip with the 2 lug design. Others noted that it was nice and tough and an excellent value for the money, but not ratcheting, which was a shame.
