Cremona Acoustic Cellos SC-500 Editorial Review
If you’re in the market for a full-size cello that is visually appealing and crafted well-enough to make an impact in chamber/quartet settings as well as in the classroom or private lessons, then you'll want to Consider the Cremona SC-500. The cello comes packaged well for protection with foam blocks holding it in place, the fingerboard and tailpiece wrapped in tissue paper, and a soft case to keep it safe. Keep in mind, however, that you will have to go to a luthier to have your soundpost setup. The upper register has a lot of clarity and sounds even better with better strings, whereas the lower register currently sounds congested and shrill, but it will improve once the soundpost is set up. This cello far outcompetes mid-range models from other companies, and it sounds far better than any Ted Brown "professional" instrument, at half the price. Overall, the cello is a fantastic bargain for those on a budget.
