What is the point or advantage of the wavy pad surface?
Answer: Im not sure what the real point of it is maby hi or low spots but i will say these are great i have couple diffrant sets and i like these the best due to the finish it gives verses the flat ones i have of anuther brand -

Is this a "Hookit" pad?
Answer: No. There is an adapter that screws on to buffer then the buff pad clicks onto the adapter. Because of this the pads are 2 sided. -

The picture listed doesnt look anything like what i have. should be purple foam, with velcro on back. can anyone confirm this is purple foam 3 inch?
Answer: That one is a finishing pad, I have that by mistake as well. The purple one must be discontinued because I ordered one and got an oversized white pad that are good for light polishing but that’s about it. If you ever find the purple 3” please let me know. I do recommend you get a 3” closed cell microfiber cutting pad, it cuts even better than the purple one. -
