The Lumitec 101515 SeaBlaze X2 underwater light is a good quality light that is easy to install once the fear of drilling into the boat is overcome. However, the price of the light is quite high, so it may not be worth it for some customers. The light is very bright and turns heads anywhere you go. The spectrum changes to blue color, which is about 30% dimmer than the white or red. One light installed in the center of the transom is enough to provide light for an 11’ wide boat. The product comes with a light fixture, a 5-foot wire lead, bronze screws, and a wire strain relief, but an SPST off/on switch is not included, so customers need to purchase or use an existing switch to operate the light. The idle current of the light is about 150microamps. Some customers have reported electric problems with the light, such as flashing or not turning on at all, and some have experienced water damage to the light. If the light needs to be replaced, it will be an expensive ordeal to haul the boat even under warranty.
