The Swift Compound Kids Microscope is designed for ages 5-12 or any beginners and hobbyists. It is not recommended for observing solid objects like rocks or bugs, as stereo microscopes are better suited for that purpose. The objectives are not oil immersion ones, and there is no need to wear glasses when using this microscope. The diameter of the microscope eyepiece needs to match that of the SLR camera for the adapter to work. The reviews for this microscope are mixed. Some customers found it easy to use and a great first microscope for kids and beginners, while others had issues with the product, such as the telescope not working properly or the finish being careless in some areas. Some customers also noted that the stage is stationary, and the power connector did not seem to plug all the way into the microscope, which could be a safety hazard. However, a customer praised the sharp and clear images and great optics of the microscope despite being monocular. Another customer noted that they experienced difficulty with the illumination lamp, which pulsated on-and-off and made the microscope unusable.
