The OrcaTorch D550 is a well-made flashlight at a reasonable price, with a bright, white, tight beam. It has three modes -- bright, low, and strobe. Its high-power beam is enough for general diving, and the narrow light head makes it easier to mount on the webbing harness. It comes with a soft Goodman handle that can be utilized while free diving, two 18650 battery alternatives, and a recharger. However, the wrist mount may not be the best choice for many divers, as the light fits loosely into the sleeve and drops out. The tail-mounted button is sensitive, and the push button may be too lengthy, which can be difficult for some individuals to use. The power switch makes operation simple, and it's feasible to switch between modes by tapping it. Although it has no battery indicator, two batteries would suffice, and each charge can last for over two dives. It also has a strobe feature for emergency purposes. The battery compartment is sealed with three O-rings to provide natural resistance when diving. Although some experienced trouble with the wrist strap, the lanyard worked well, and the torch could be conveniently clipped to BCDs when not in use. It is a good backup or pocket primary light and has been utilized with satisfaction underwater.
