However, it is not suitable for leaving in the oven while testing meat temperature. The clip attaches to the side of the pot, and the sensor hangs about a quarter-inch from the edge of the pot. The thermometer is recalibratable, and it works with induction burners. It needs to be as deep as possible without touching the pan, sides or bottom. It is useful for making maple syrup and candles.
